SMS Media Group, a well-known name in the industry of cellphone advertising and marketing, introduced Cell Phone Ads, an SMS based cellphone advertising service, this month. For over five years, SMS Media Group has been a specialist in SMS based mobile marketing and advertising campaigns. Their advertising service works strictly on a permission-based opt-in method, so only people that want ads on their mobile phone will get them.
SMS Media specializes in providing mobile content like news, sports updates, finance, entertainment, and religious alerts via text messaging for people who have opted in for the service. The service is largely used by business houses that want to keep in touch with their customers, banks that want to send alerts and notifications to their customers, transportation services that want to keep their travelers updated, and so on. With Cell Phone Ads, they have taken their cellphone advertising service to the next level. Cell Phone Ads is a service which allows advertisers to place up to 60 characters of ad in every message that a customer gets. The ad will be a targeted one, based on the demographics of customers.
As an advertiser, you are allowed to place an ad which is 60 characters long with every message. You can place a URL for the customer to click on, you can place a phone number that he can respond to, or you can place an email id he can respond to. You can select your target customers based on age, gender, location, and other criteria and your ads will be sent only to those you choose. SMS Media will give you a detailed report which will help you analyze the effectiveness of your ad campaign. According to SMS Media Group, over 40% of customers respond to SMS based advertising, which is way higher than any other form of conventional advertising.
My take on this issue is, as I’ve always stated, anything that comes with an opt-in plan is always good for the customers. You opt in for something and if you don’t like it, you opt out of it just as quickly. I don’t see an issue with this; do you?
