Mobile Convergence Company Raises $17.5 million in Funding

Mavenir Systems, a company that offers mobile convergence services, has raised $17.5 million in its third round of funding. For those of you who don’t know what mobile convergence means, let me explain a little. Mobile convergence is nothing but a service which makes accessing broadband connections on mobile phones a lot easier. Thanks to this service, mobile networks can easily handle VoIP calls and multimedia messaging. This also helps network operators a chance to offer a wide range of mobile applications and services to the end users.

Mobile convergence is rapidly becoming popular thanks to the proliferation of smart phones in the market. So, the fact that Mavenir has managed to raise funds despite the bad economy has not surprised many. In fact, experts say that the market is more interested in anything mobile than personal computers or even laptops for that matter. Mavenir Systems has managed to raise $51 million so far.
