Greystripe is one company which sure knows the pulse of its customers. Ad supported mobile games are considered the next big thing and Greystripe is sure cashing in on that. First, it was the much-talked-about partnership with Myxer and now here comes another partnership with the German mobile operator, Simyo.
According to this deal, Greystripe will create a games portal which will have more than 800 free mobile games. Mobile users will be able to download them without paying a penny, as all the games are ad supported. Surprisingly, these games are not exclusively available for Simyo subscribers alone. Any mobile user from any mobile network can download these games. The reason is pretty simple.
Both Simyo and Greystripe will split the revenue generated from the targeted ads in those mobile games. So, it doesn’t matter who downloads the game – whether a Simyo subscriber or someone else – as long as the revenue comes in.
Also, one of the highlights of this mobile games portal is that it supports over 1400 handsets, which is a very good thing for mobile users. No matter what handset you have, you’ll be able to download these games. So, this will be pretty popular with users.
Btw, have you guys tried out any of these ad supported mobile games? What are your favorites?

As the next step in its quest for domination in the mobile advertising industry, Yahoo might soon start sending text message ads to mobile users. It is all set to announce a partnership with a startup in Silicon Valley (where else?) called 4INFO. Yahoo believes that 4INFO’s technology will be very helpful in its text message advertising campaigns.
Yahoo is planning to send mobile content including news, sports updates, horoscopes, weather forecasts, and other things via text messages. The total number of characters allowed in a text message is 160. Out of this, 40 characters will be dedicated to advertisements.
The point, however, is, they seem to have an interesting deal. Yahoo will send mobile content backed up with mobile ads and 4INFO will try to send ads through its own mobile advertising network. The revenue will be split 60-40 between them and whoever managed to make a sale will walk away with 60% of the share. How about that?

Looks like it’s the season of banner ads. After Google, Third Screen, AdMob, Yahoo, and most recently Microsoft, Virgin Mobile USA has announced that it will display banner ads to its mobile users who surf the web in their cell phone.
Virgin Mobile will use AOL’s mobile advertising system to display banner ads to users. This is the first time Virgin Mobile is entering the mobile advertising market. However, the CEO of Virgin Mobile has made it clear that they are being very cautious with these ads. These banner ads will be displayed on an experimental basis and depending on the response they get, they might think of expending their territory further.
The way I see it, this is a perfect partnership. Virgin Mobile’s growth has been not so impressive recently due to various reasons and AOL is the classic example of an erstwhile famous company trying to come to terms with the fact that it’s struggling. These two entities have joined hands. So, if things work out well, it might be good for both of them.

Finally, here’s a company which is worried about people listening to sexually explicit music every day. The company in picture is uVuMobile, a mobility software and solutions provider. It has joined hands with Watchfire Music, an online music resource. Watchfire Music specializes in inspirational music and sexually explicit lyrics and songs with provocative themes are a big no-no for them. So, they’ve joined hands with uVuMobile to create mobile music stations.
Wait a sec; what on earth is a mobile music station? Pretty simple; you can listen to music on your mobile phone. This partnership aims to launch two music stations named WFM Heart Beat and WFM Quiet Soul. These stations will only broadcast songs that are inspirational and have a positive influence on people who listen to them. Simply put, it’s like a musical version of Dale Carnegie.
Both the parties involved in the partnership are confident that people will find these mobile music stations very useful and this will pave way to generate new revenue streams for them. Any takers?

DoubleClick, a well-known name in digital marketing, has announced that it will be joining hands with other industry leaders in mobile content to deliver more value to publishers and end users. DoubleClick Mobile, the mobile advertising delivery system from DoubleClick, will join hands with AdMob, Google AdSense for mobile, and Millennial Media’s Decktrade network and MBrand Network.
This partnership, DoubleClick says, is aimed at publishers who are looking to fill their available inventory and maximize their revenue. Thanks to this move by DoubleClick, publishers will now be able to sell mobile display inventory both directly and indirectly, as they have automated access to plenty of mobile advertisers’ networks. DoubleClick Mobile will give an accurate account of the inventory that is ready to be sold, inventory that has already been sold, and the slots filled by ad networks. With this kind of data, publishers will be able to monetize their mobile content better than ever.
